Libdvdcss is a free and open source software library for unscrambling DVDs encrypted with the Content Scramble System (CSS). At the same time, the libdvdcss library is also able to read discs that have a different region than your drive. It's a must if you want to use Handbrake 1.0.0 in order to RIP a DVD. Would it be a bad idea to do the OSX installation from the bootable drive just to get the target Mac working, and then use Disk Utility on that target Mac to erase and reformat the drive, and then use Disk Utility to re-install OSX a second time?
