MQB modular architecture
The abbreviation MQB stands for Modularer Querbaukasten, which can loosely be translated from German as “Modular Transversal Toolkit” or “Modular Transverse Matrix”. Stripping it down to the basics, we could argue that it is (not only) a chassis kit that can be assembled in any way the designer wants. There is only one fixed dimension – the distance between the McPherson front axle mounting and the pedals.
